I had big plans for this hop but ended up with a sewing fail. Having had neck surgery, I thought I would be more healed up than I am. I attempted a project but could not finish. I have learned one thing though, I do not like embroidery. I have stuck myself so much I think I should have had a blood transfusion along the way. Hats off to all of you that have joined the hop and made such wonderful projects. Here is all I was able to do.

Glad you tried embroidery. I had a hard time when I first started. Thank you for sharing and take care to not over do.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that you gave it a try, there is always machine embroidery.
ReplyDeleteOh you make me smile. You have embraced what these hops are all abut, trying new things. thank you for posting what you did get done, it looks wonderful. Sorry about you fingers!
ReplyDeleteI applaud your attempt, it looks great!!! I'm sorry you found it wasn't your thing...but everybody is different and we all love different things. It's what make us unique. You did a lot considering your poor fingers...I'm so sorry!! Hope to see you again at some other fun thing Samm cooks up!
ReplyDeleteHope you will be better soon. The chair is looking wonderful.
ReplyDeleteFrederika
I hope you feel better soon. It was a good try.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon and then you can stitch some more.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll be better soon. It is great that you gave embroidery a try and it is coming along well.
ReplyDeleteGreat start :) Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be lovely when you're able to finish. Life certainly gets in the way of our creativity! Heal fast!
ReplyDeletehope you are better soon, hope you finish
ReplyDeleteLooks great. You'll get it done when you are ready. Glad you gave it a try.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I would like embroidery when I started 5 years ago but I have grown to really enjoy it... I still cannot do it as well as most seasoned veterans but I do think it will stand up next to theirs.
ReplyDeleteKudos for you for trying... and I hope you heal soon!
Feel better. Needlework while it looks quite simple is quite involved. Doing it right after having any type of surgery, especially neck?!?!?! You are one tough cookie.
ReplyDeletegreat piece. this is something I haven't tried
ReplyDeleteI really hope you feel better soon and maybe then you can get back to it....
ReplyDeleteYour have made a great embroidery. And I think you will enjoy it and now you have given it a try. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI hope you recover well from the neck surgery. What you did looks great, but when you don't like to do the technic, you don't like it, you have had a great lesson, thanks for showing your result.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty is this comfortable enough I may take a rest
ReplyDeleteat least you tried! It does take a little practice but I can see where it would not be a good idea for a healing neck, bent over our work like we have to do.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure I like embroidery either, but it's slowly growing on me. I didn't even attempt the chair, so I'm impressed that you did. I hope your neck gets better!
ReplyDeleteGood try, and a good start. you can always finish it up later if you want to. thanks for sharing. vickise at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll feel so much better soon that you will try again! Your little chair is going to be so pretty. Nothing seems right after surgery, so maybe that is the problem here. It looks like what you've done is done well!
ReplyDeleteGreat start, you can finish when you feel better!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure sorry you had such a negative experience with embroidery. Maybe if you try again when you're feeling better, you'll find you like it more. You were off to such a great start!
ReplyDeleteI like what I see so far...add it to your UFO pile and the next time you pick it up it will all but complete itself! :)
ReplyDeleteA good start, but sometimes that is what it takes to know its not your cup of tea. Don't feel bad because its not finished, but continue to heal after surgery.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!
Hope you are healing well. That will be a cute project when you get back to it.
ReplyDeleteSorry, you were not able to enjoy the stitching, and I hope and pray that you will heal soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon and you can finish your project then.
ReplyDeleteThe start looks lovely. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better real soon. At least your tried AND learned something. I love that chair!
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good. Like anything else, embroidery takes practice and part of the learning curve, unfortunately, is sticking yourself unintentionally with the needle. I used to tell my students that the more you do, the better you will get and eventually learn ways not to stick yourself as much. Embroidery is therapeutic and relaxing for me & that's why I need to do more! LOL! Hope you're back to your old self soon. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI think you rproject looks great. But remember we are all better at somethings than at others.
ReplyDeletesorry you had such a hard time. hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHey, you tried and I sure hope you are feeling better! Your stitchery looks good!
ReplyDeleteI hope you do feel better soon and can get back to what looks to be a great start on a lovely stitchery!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon. You did give it a try and that was good.
ReplyDeleteI hope you start feeling better soon. I love the design you chose for your stitchery project.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a cute design and I hope you finish it when you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteDon't give up! You need to stick with it. Sorry, bad pun. What you did looks fine. It is always hard to learn new skills and recovering from surgery makes everything more difficult. I find handwork relaxing and when it isn't I put it away. Hope your recovery speeds up. Blessings!
ReplyDeletelove to see your project all finished too
ReplyDeletenice job sew far
Hopefully as you recover from your surgery embroidery will be easier for you. It's hard when you have a deadline looming!
ReplyDeleteTry again after your neck is better and maybe it won't be as difficult.
ReplyDeleteFeel better, pat yourself on the back and consider yourself hugged! Its a great start. b-)
ReplyDeleteHoping you are better soon. Don't give up! You wee doing a good job!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon. That chair just looks so comfy...
ReplyDeleteHope you continue to heal and are able to continue finishing, because it looks so good so far! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh my - the chair looks so cute on that fabric. You could applique it on to another fabric and it would be wonderful. Hope your healing comes soon.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it finished! Hope you post it when you are done! So far your stitches look perfect!
ReplyDeleteWell, you might hate it but your chair looks great so far!!! Your fabric is pretty too. It looks like it could be used for a real chair. I hope your neck feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better! Be sure and finish the project as you are doing great!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are taking it easy and healing up! I think your embroidery looks lovely. I'm sorry you aren't enjoying it :(
ReplyDeleteYou are doing great, hang in there and try again when you are feeling better. Thanks for sharing! I'm a new follower and I will be back to visit again. Happy stitching, Pauline
